Nostalgia.
In this series, I focused on exploring my childhood and the places I am continually drawn to. I chose to view these spaces from a different perspective, from a child's height and fixated on details. My work explores the neighborhood I grew up in as well as surrounding areas that I encounter often and have visited my entire life. I wanted to explore something that I see on a regular basis, that I often do not pay mind to or find interest in photographing. I tried to show a range of subject matter from a peaceful meditation to leftover objects and garbage.
I chose black and white film images to create the essence of thinking back to a memory that has faded over time. Through these images, I wanted a sense of roaming back to these spaces that I frequently visited growing up - an attempt to regress back to free-spirited, childhood memories, where there is an appreciation for that which is rarely appreciated - the ordinary and everyday encounters in life.
